The Ridgeton Tales

Five strangers walk into a tavern in the port town of Ridgeton. What should be a simple contract — three missing loggers, an anxious uncle, a forest that shouldn't be dangerous — pulls them somewhere older and stranger, into the reach of something buried under the trees and the long shadow it casts across the Tameless Shore.

A dwarf wizard with a library's worth of arcane theory and almost no field experience. His warhammer-swinging brother, newly returned from a mercenary company and itching for trouble. A half-elf cleric of the god of peace, searching for a father who sailed south and never returned. A hooded wood elf with a job to offer. And his cousin, who forgets her clothes, her species, and occasionally which forest she's in.

They are soon joined by a snow-elf squire from a frozen land wandering alone, searching for a quest to prove his worthiness — but he'll find more than he bargained for.
